Microwavable Heat Bags

There are significant benefits for using heat therapy to supplement other forms of treatment.

The application of heat is most commonly used for:

  • the reduction of pain (chronic pain, joint/ arthritic pain, pain due to injuries, post-operative pain etc.)
  • to soothe muscular tension in muscles which have been overexerted as well as to improve the flexibility of sore and stiff muscles
  • to relax stomach cramps (menstrual cramps, cramps associated with Endometriosis and PCOS etc.)

The microwavable heat bag provides deep penetrating warmth to the specific area experiencing pain. When heat is applied, blood flow increases to that area. As a result, blood vessels open, which allows for blood and oxygen to flow faster to this specific area; thus reducing pain. Heat therapy also tends to reduce muscle spasms, causing the muscles, ligaments, and tendons to relax. This form of treatment is a safe, natural, drug free and a very inexpensive solution!

Our Microwavable Heat Bags come in four sizes; Small, Medium, Large and Neck. They are a favourite in Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy practices, Orthopaedic practices, beauty salons as well as at home.

Our Microwavable Heat Bags are filled with locally sourced natural Whole Wheat or Buck Wheat (depending on the availability). The design of the Heat Bag comprises of a multi-sectional inner bag, which ensures the wheat is evenly spread; thus providing proportionate heat distribution. An outer cover is also included allowing for easy laundering.

We use 100% Cotton fabric for ALL inner bags as this fabric can withstand high heat. The removable covers (which do not go into the microwave) are made of various types of fabric. Fabrics are subject to availability; and we cannot guarantee continuation of designs.

If you have a practice/ shop and you would like to stock our Heat Bags on Consignment, please contact us and we can set this up! Our Small and Medium sizes are most commonly used in OT Practices; and our Medium, Large and Neck are commonly used in Physiotherapy Practices.
